Tavistock 7 Okehampton 0 THE Lambs pre season continues in fine form with this convincing win over Exeter and District side Okehampton. Tavistock were at full strength and quickly took the lead after just five minutes when Glynn Hobbs shrugged off the challenge of Chris Wills to slot home. Ten minutes later they were 2 up when a James Williams pass was intercepted by Chris Menhinnick to stride forward and chip the ball over Chris Dearing from 25 yards. Hobbs saw his volley palmed away by Dearing before the first chance for Okehampton fell to Steve Williams after 25 minutes but his shot flew just over the bar. A great run from the deep saw John Morris through to shoot and, despite Dearing getting a hand to the ball, it rolled over the line for the Lambs? third. A good move between Dave Hallett, Hobbs and Mark Conday saw the latter?s shot hit the bottom of an upright. James Steer cleared off the line from an Okehampton corner before the Lambs scored again. Another great run saw Conday through on goal to slot home for number four. The goal of the game came just prior to the interval with a sweeping move. Sean Cann?s run saw him down the wing to cross for Steer to head home. The second half saw the Lambs take the foot off the pedal with stand-in keeper Paul Blatchford bringing off a fine save from Mortimore to keep a clean sheet. All five subs got a run out but they still managed to score another brace with Will Stringer slotting home from the penalty spot after Lee Ireland was fouled in the area and Hallett completed the scoring. Team: Paul Blatchford, Sean Cann, Will Westlake, Dave Hallett, Mike Arscott, Will Stringer, James Steer, Mark Conday, Glynn Hobbs, John Morris, Chris Menhinninck. All subs used throughout the second half. John Hadjiyianni, Paul Cowling, Lee Ireland, John Gosling and Jason Clancy.
