Tavistock 2

Penzance 2

THE Lambs twice came from behind to gain a point and could have taken all three with a stirring second half performance.

They had gone a goal down after six minutes. Keeper Andy Meeds did well to save from Tom Patrick but the ball was not cleared and it fell to Dave Burt on the left side of the area to send in a shot that flew high into the far side of the net.

The Lambs were not behind for too long and six minutes later they worked a great equaliser. Mark Keith controlled the ball well in the Magpies? half to roll it back for Duncan Duthie to thread it through for Will Westlake to send in a low cross past Paul Williams.

They then found themselves behind for a second time on 25 minutes when a dreadful mistake from Sean Cann put the ball straight to Burt in the Lambs? area. Cann recovered to force him wide of goal but he got his shot away to score inside the far post.

The Lambs continued to play their football and were unlucky to go in at half-time a goal down as James Steer and Keith both went close with a goal-line clearance and Williams palming away an effort.

Meeds saved himself embarrassment at the start of the second half after a poor goal kick before Steer saw two efforts blocked as Craig Hodge set him up.

The Lambs came right back into the game just after the hour. Duthie sent Daniel Fadida down the wing to cut back inside to send over a high cross to find Hodge and his header found the top corner.

The home side then took charge, but despite forcing a series of corners and free kicks could not find a way through the visitors? defence. They could have taken all the points right on the stroke of full time with Cann having an effort blocked. Fadida was unlucky as he got clear and rounded the keeper but Williams got the faintest of touches to concede a corner.
