LADS and dads in Okehampton are being called to take part in a rugby day out for Hospiscare in 2014.

The 10k Hospiscare Men's Walk sponsored by Wilkinson Grant and Co, is a great way to spend a lads' day out alongside friends and family, with the bonding continuing after the walk with a pint, pasty and three Six Nations rugby matches. The walk will start at Sandy Park, home of the Exeter Chiefs, on Saturday, March 15.

Hospiscare event fundraiser Hannah Slater said: 'The chance to spend a day out with your mates or for fathers and sons to get together has made this 10k walk an extremely popular event in the Hospiscare calendar.

'This is a really fun event open to anyone aged 12 and upwards. Over the past two years, the walk has made its mark as a way for people across all generations to enjoy a lads' day out together.'

Entry costs £15 and includes an invite to Sandy Park's Exeter Suite after the walk to watch three rugby matches on big screens, along with a free pint from Otter Breweries and a pasty from Chunks of Devon.

More than 400 men braved hailstones and sweeping rain to take part in last year's walk, raising more than £40,000 for the charity. The walk starts at Sandy Park at 8.45am.
