MILTON Abbot Community Group's annual cherry fair last Saturday was well attended with all proceeds going to the proposed playpark for the village and to the local church.

The weather was good and people enjoyed attractions such as the pillow fight on the greasy pole, children's egg and spoon and sack races, a tug of war, where the ladies beat the men, and a bouncy castle.

Much fun was had with the horse racing with costumes supplied by the Tavistock Round Table who also hosted the barbecue and bar facilities.

Many local stalls were in place, local foods and crafts, facepainting, haircuts, cream teas.

The Milton Abbot Village Independant Stores (MAVIS) donated a hamper for the raffle and Endsleigh Garden Centre at Milton Abbot donated a cherry tree for auction.

A dog show took place in the afternoon and many proud owners went home with winning rosettes with Oscar, the golden retriever, winning best of show.

A great family fun day was had and the community group would like to thank everyone who supported the day.
