Tavistock Ladies 2nds 11 Paignton 3rds 1 THIS was Tavistock Ladies 2nd hockey team?s first game this season and they achieved an excellent victory during the friendly. Tavistock took first push back and through good, accurate passing Julia Firth had scored the first goal within minutes. continuous pressure from Tavistock?s forwards gave Emma Passmore and Julia the chance to score a further two goals. Paignton fought back hard and after receiving a short corner managed to get past Tavistock?s defence, leaving keeper Alayna helpless to stop the strike. One more goal came from Kate Eadie minutes before half time, giving a 4-1 lead. Tavistock came back stronger in the second half and within minutes a further two goals came from Kate and Julia. Paignton had some breaks through Tavistock?s midfield but could not manage to get the ball into the D, due to continuous efforts from Tavistock?s defence. Constant pressure from Emma, Julia, Kate, Chloe Bassett and Gem Murphy allowed Tavistock to bring the score up to 10-1 before the final whistle. Great work by Frankie Murphy, Jenny Pollock and Paige McGechie allowed a great ball to be passed into the D with the final goal coming from Julia minutes from the end.
