A LADIES' team from Yelverton Golf Club lost 5-2 to Woodbury ladies in a Sheelagh Creasy matches. There were wins for Yelverton's Mair Preston-Jones and Elizabeth Calder who won their matches 3 and 1.

Yelverton ladies lost at home 4-1 to Crediton, with two matches being halved. Sue Rumbold won her match 2 up for the home side.

In the President's Trophy last Monday Yelverton enjoyed a win in its first match in this tournament winning 5-1 and one drawn. There were wins for Barbara Collier, Jean James, Joan Voisin, Di Reardon and Penny Hunter, while Christine Longden came in with a respectable half on the 18th.

In the club's Peugout Coronation foursomes played last Thursday the winners were Lynne Arkison and Di Reardon 36 points. Second were Annette Sweeney and Mair Preston-Jones on 35. These two pairs have qualified to go through to the regional final at Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire on the August 18.
