A FORMER Tavistock ladies' group presented its final cheque to help children's cancer services recently.

Mary Baker, treasurer of Tavistock Country Ladies, presented a cheque for £877 to Mr G Paterson, fundraiser for Derriford Children's Cancer Services.

Unfortunately Tavistock Country Ladies has now closed through lack of membership, after raising in excess of £15,500 for charities over its 22 years in existence.

The final cheque was made up of £470 from a coffee morning, along with the remainder of the bank balance.
