Tavistock Ladies 12 Torridgeside 2 AFTER the heavy blow of last week?s defeat, Tavistock Ladies came back fighting with a sting in their tail. Rhianne Parsons opened the scoresheet in the ninth minute and Kate Atkinson quickly joined her to score Tavistock?s second. Torridgeside took the play out to the right wing, but solid tackling from Louise Galway and the fast pace of Candy Capeling kept the door shut. Captain Donna Hone dominated the right wing, passing to Parsons to score a further two goals. Kirsty Jones battled on the left wing but could not finish, beaten by the Torridgeside keeper. Torridgeside keeper faced an onslaught from Tavistock and made some good saves, but Tavistock soon wore her down and Kate Atkinson scored a further two goals bringing the score to 6-0 at half time. In the second half, Aisha Macauley added her name to the scoresheet. Torridgeside still battled and managed to score their first goal. But Tavistock stepped up a gear and Atkinson continued her scoring, bringing the score up 8-1. Parsons battled through Torridgeside defence and found the bottom corner of the goal, scoring Tavistock?s ninth. With the box packed with Torridgeside for a corner, Laura Corrales took the ball and with a long pass up-field, Atkinson went on a straight attack and scored Tavistock?s tenth. Torridgeside were tiring, but still battled hard and were awarded a second goal. Again Hone took control of the right wing and crossed the ball in to Atkinson to score Tavistock?s 11th. Another long ball pass from Laura Phillip sent Tavistock on the attack again and Parsons closed the scoresheet 12-2. Player of the match: Rhianne Parsons.
