THE ladies of Okehampton Ladies? Probus Club are very concerned at the state of Red Lion Yard as it is deteriorating rapidly. On Saturday July 22 at 9am it had congealed blood on the floor with tables and chairs directly opposite where people were expected to eat and drink. There was also a dead bird left in the middle of the precinct, the litterbins were full to overflowing and the whole of the area was littered with used cigarette butts. As we are at the height of the tourist season, is this really the impression we wish to give to people coming into the town, and will they want to return?
