THE weather has not been ideal for Yelverton Golf Club's ladies' section in the last two weeks.
On August 2 Mrs Helen Harris, ladies' captain, welcomed 18 past ladies' captains of Yelverton.
The golf competition was abandoned because of a thunderstorm, but the 'after-golf' lunch was highly convivial.
On August 9, Helen organised an entertaining competition on her ladies' captain's day.

A Chinese greensome is when the opposing couple choose which drive you take. It was noted that some were more gracious than others!
There were prizes for everyone, but June Smalley and Shirley Trevena won with 33 points.
Laura Eastwood played in the Girls' British Open Amateur golf championships in Brough, Yorkshire, last week.
On Tuesday she went round in 74 (SSS 72) and on Wednesday she went round in 78, qualifying 39th out of 120. She lost the next round of match play to H Nolan from Ireland.
This is an excellent result for Laura, whose handicap is now 3.
