Tavistock Ladies 1 Plainmoor Ladies 2 Tavistock Ladies on Sunday encountered more than they had bargained for as Torquay, who are fairly new to the league, hadn't won a game until this weekend. The Tavistock side were at the disadvantage  of not having played a game in the last three months due to bad weather cancellations.  The Plainmoor ladies had drastically improved their game since losing to the Tavistock ladies 3-0 in October, and deserved their victory.  With a few good forward players, the visitors continually broke through holes in the defence and there was nothing that Tavistock keeper, Zoe Stock, could have done about the two goals that went in. Their first goal came half way through the first half, but despite a few good chances at goal, Tavistock didn't equalise until a penalty for a hand-ball just before half time, when striker Donna Hone hit the ball firmly into the top left corner. In the second half the Tavistock Ladies game deteriorated. The Plainmoor Ladies started to defend deep, not allowing Tavistock to take advantage of their speed up front, and after about 20 minutes the Plainmoor forwards broke through once again, scoring another good goal. Tavistock could not blame any one individual but this was a generally poor team game despite some good performances from Jess Turner and Rachel Kelly in midfield. l Tavistock Ladies play Lipson United, at Tavistock AFC on Sunday, kick-off 2pm.
