Graddon Vending Devon Premier Cup Semi Final Tavistock 1 Ivybridge 2 THE Lambs? attempt to get to the final for the first time in three years came to a sad and miserable end at Langsford Park with the cup holders into the final for the successive year. It was a lively start and both keepers had to be alert in the opening minute as Jamie Morgan was allowed to run on and shoot at home keeper Andy Meeds with Shane Krac seeing his free kick tipped over the bar by Gary Turner. The Lambs then took the game to the visitors for the next quarter of an hour. A fiercely struck shot from Glynn Hobbs saw Turner in the correct position to palm it over the bar. Krac?s corner saw Nigel Pugh head over from close range with Mark Conday blasting over when well placed after Hobbs and Dave Hallett combined to let him in. It was then the turn of the visitors as the ball was kept in on the touchline to allow James Lynch to get away but his shot came back off Meeds and his rebound went well over the crossbar. Hobbs then did well on the half hour to cross low from the by-line with no one being able to add the finishing touch before the Lambs finally and deservedly took the lead with 8 minutes of the half remaining. Ivybridge failed to clear their lines and John Hajiyianni collected the ball just outside the area to cross in low for Conday to make amends and control the ball at the far post to shoot home low past Turner. The turning point of the game came before the start of the second half with the players returning to the field of play. Lynch and Hajiyianni got themselves involved in an argument whilst walking out. Sadly for Hadjiyianni he was given the red card. It was then an uphill struggle to contain the visitors and to hold onto the goal lead. The Lambs had to change tactics bringing on defender Sean Cann for Conday. Ivybridge then got back on level terms on 65 minutes when James Steer was adjudged to have fouled five yards outside and to the right of the area. Despite a wall being formed he managed to guide it low past it and into the far corner past an unsighted Meeds. The Lambs finally succumbed in the 83rd minute when Krac was caught dwelling on the ball to be robbed with the ball moved forward to Berry to race away and shoot home past Meeds. A very disappointing way to go out. A lack of discipline during the break gave Ivybridge the upper hand in the second half. But the Lambs had the better of the chances in the first half to give themselves a far greater cushion than one goal.
