A MASKED knifeman tried to rob an elderly couple at their home in Kelly Bray on Sunday and police are appealing for witnesses. The crime occurred in Windsor Lane at around 9am when the couple answered the doorbell and were confronted by a man with a carrier bag over his head and a knife in his hand. The man, who was dressed from head to toe in black or dark clothing, demanded money but the couple slammed the door in his face and immediately dialled 999.
