THE West Devon band making its mark on the nation, Kitty and the Lost Boys, will be entertaining audiences at Plymouth Twestival tonight (Thursday).
The Tavistock band, who gained national exposure when they featured as BBC Radio One Switch's House Band of the Week recently, will be performing as part of the charity Twestival held at Plymouth Argyle's Home Park.
Plymouth Twestival (Twitter Festival), is a charity fundraising event organised using social media networks like Twitter. Twestivals are held on the same day in cities across the world, and this year all money raised from the event will go to Concern Worldwide to help fund education projects in developing countries.
Kitty and the Lost Boys said they were delighted to be involved with the unique charity event.
Lead singer Kitty Austen said: 'I'm really psyched and can't wait to play Plymouth Twestival.
'We use Twitter and Myspace all the time to reach our fans and promote our gigs. It's brilliant that they're getting local bands together for a good cause.'
Visitors to Twestival will be entertained not only by Kitty and the Lost Boys, but several other local bands, a giant Scalextric track, music, raffle, and a charity auction hosted by celebrity auctioneer Graham Barton from Homes Under the Hammer, featuring works of art and prints by top local artists and photographers, as well as goodies donated by local businesses.
The Twestival starts at 7pm — tickets can be bought on the door for £10.
