Kingskerswell and Chelston 2

Chagford 1

DESPITE being reduced to 10 men, within ten minutes of the start, Chagford gave a good account of themselves and were unlucky to not come away with a better result.

A somewhat scrappy and, at times, contentious match contained a lot of incidents with Chagford having their own chances to win it.

Both Davis and Miller sent shots over the bar when it looked easier to score but these just served to emphasise the visitors' luck on the day.

Kingskerswell took a first half lead but were restricted to the single goal right to the break. Indeed, Chagford may have changed ends on equal terms had Davis taken his opportunity.

The visitors' day went from bad to worse, when Forsey diverted a second half cross into his own net.

The hosts' tactics served to keep Chagford at bay until the 85th minute, Robbie Miller converted well to raise the visitors' hopes a little — but to no avail as the home side held out.

• Chagford are scheduled to welcome Galmpton United and Torbay Gents Reserves, this weekend, with the need to pick up points and avoid getting dragged in to a relegation battle.
