Uploman U15s 0
Okehampton Argyle U15s 3
OKEHAMPTON fizzed and sparked from the first whistle to the last. This was a magnificent example of teamwork.
Man of the match Matthew King dominated midfield with his non-stop harassing style and graceful distribution. His link play with the forwards was a thrill to behold.
Okehampton passed, pressed and chased and eventually a ball from King split the defence. Karl Maltravers pounced but unluckily was a whisker away from his first goal of the campaign.
Ironically, after a long period of incisive possession football, Okehampton caught Uploman with a route one ball from keeper Herrod-Taylor; Rob Clark?s control was instant and the defence flat-footed. A great strike made it 1-0.
The second half saw more of the same with impressive understanding developing between Rob Clark and Phil Woods, who found himself playing for the first time on the right wing.
The second goal came through midfield. Matt King broke up a counter attack and with pin-point accuracy slid the ball through to Chris Raymont who wrong-footed the keeper and eased the ball into the net.
Uploman worked hard but were thwarted time and time again by a well organised Okehampton defence. Darren Chapman dropped back and snuffed out many promising Uploman attacks on the left. Keeper Herrod-Taylor was at his best with a supreme air of confidence and authority that belied his age.
The match was put beyond Uploman with a moment of outstanding class as centre half Ben Kimber burst through midfield, two defenders and with the keeper to beat produced a superb strike to end the contest.

Exeter Civil Service 5
A GOAL in the first five minutes from a Civil Service corner put Argyle on the back-foot.
Unfortunately, Okehampton could not find their composure. They remained a little nervous and conceded a further two goals.
By half-time Okehampton had got the measure of the Civil Servants with spirited performances from Morgan, Will Eddy and Hooper, who dominated aerial combat at the back.
Eddy?s intensive marking forced Civil Service to change their attacking player in the second half, and a slight adjustment to Okehampton?s tactics shored up the midfield.
Argyle had a better second half and contained many attacks. The back four mainly stood firm, but conceded two goals as the Civil Service pressed forward.
Okehampton?s attack shared moments of brilliance, but failed to make it count, despite an Enckelman-style error from the Servants? keeper.
Argyle should take heart, last season they lost 18-2 to this team.
Man of the match: Morgan. next match away to Beacon Knights, Saturday.
