NORTH Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team have expressed thanks to generous supporter Gregory Distribution, which has agreed to service and MOT the Land Rover given to the rescue team by Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service earlier this year.

The vehicle is now fully operational and has already been deployed on incidents, exercises and events. So far this year the NDSRT has responded to 23 call outs.

Paul Vachon, from the NDSRT, said: ‘The team’s two other vehicles have been serviced and maintained by Gregory’s transport servicing facility for a number of years. This agreement to include the third vehicle is very good news for the team. The cost to maintain emergency vehicles to the standards required is very high.

‘We are grateful for this generous support which will ensure the vehicles are safe and ready to respond to incidents at any time.

‘All three vehicles are now being kept inside our new operations centre. This means the team is in the best possible position to respond to call outs.’
