KELLY girls? hockey team made it five wins from five matches this season after beating West Buckland in a closely fought encounter on Saturday.
Kelly have already done the Tavistock
double, beating the Tavistock Ladies and Tavistock College, and have other wins agains Stoodley Knowle and Edgehill.
Jo Hollick helped the defence withstand an early West Buckland barrage before Cherry Phypers and Rachel Thorne started to stamp their authority on the game.
Good work by Amy Hill led to an opening for Rachel Thorne who continued her prolific start to the season in front of goal and swept the ball past the Buckland keeper.
The second half was also closely fought with Rachel Wallace scrapping for every ball. Kelly created more openings, including a missed penalty stroke.
Amy Hill finished the game with an outstanding individual goal.
The 2nd XI fought out a 0-0 draw with notable performances from Emily Wilson in goal and Charlotte Olive in defence.
