YOUNG entrepreneurs from Kelly College have won a place at a national trade fair in Stratford-upon-Avon next month.

The students, who run a Young Enterprise company Tsunami, are one of four teams selected from 26 in the Plymouth area to take part in the event on April 8.

Tsunami sell 'mini-kites' — at just £3 they compete well with expensive high-street alternatives and have proved popular with youngsters.

Flushed with their success, the students have also formed a sub-section of the company called Tsunami Entertainments which organises social events.

Emma Cobbledick, managing director of Tsunami, said: 'It's hard work sometimes but we're a good team and totally committed to making our company a success.'

The object of the Young Enterprise scheme is for students to set up their own companies, experiencing all aspects of the business world. They work towards an NVQ certificate at the end of the programme.

Tsunami is currently making substantial profits, which will be returned to shareholders when the company is liquidated in June, at the end of the programme.
