ORGANISERS of the 2013 Ruby Run will be keeping their fingers crossed for a repeat of the nice weather seen earlier this week as they prepare for the event this Sunday.

In the eleventh year of the popular half-marathon, the Ruby Run is expected to attract athletes from all over the South West.

Each year organisers nominate a charity to receive a donation.

This year's charity is Children's Hospice South West.

Last year's event raised over £2,000 for Cancer Research UK.

The event also attracts a large number of walkers, many of whom raise money for their own charities.

This year's run is on Sunday, June 9, starting in Hatherleigh and ending in Holsworthy.
