Keep your dogs away from where children play

I AM concerned about a minority of dog owners who persist in exercising their dogs on sports fields. This has happened in Simmons Park/Okehampton School playing fields, Okehampton Rugby Club and South Tawton Primary School playing field.

Apart from the disgusting physical mess and smell there is a human health risk. Dog faeces can carry a nematode worm larva — toxocara canis - which can in rare cases cause blindness. I already have a client with one eye affected as a child and do not want to see my children and their friends affected.

Please exercise your dogs away from areas used by children.
