AFTER a challenging summer for parents and children weatherwise (August in particular!) it may be useful to highlight how valuable the Tavistock Library is to many residents — not only during the long summer holiday — but throughout the year .
The library offers enriching learning/socialising experiences for a cross section of the local community — and for parents of school age children with their on-going program of story time sessions, reading challenges (the summertime Alien Space Hop challenge involved a number of fun multidisciplinary events culminating in a super tea party which was a seriously 'hot ticket' – standing room only!), themed activities (arts and crafts, reptile and insect show and tell, clown acts, etc), Friends of the Library coffee mornings and other clubs/events.
I am sure I would be joined by many, many others in the community who are grateful for the access to this important facility – and its dedicated and helpful staff.
