I AM writing regarding the ever growing problem of dog's mess around Tavistock. It seems there isn't a street in the town which is not affected.

I have to clean off my children's shoes, bike tyres and pushchair wheels almost weekly. It is disgusting and can seriously damage children's health.

An irresponsible dog owner in the town was recently heard to say 'it is the council's job to clean up dog mess, not mine'. With selfish attitudes like that, it is clear that there needs to be some re-education and a crack-down on offenders.

I, for one, am fed up with scraping other people's dog's faeces out of my toddler's shoes. I love dogs and I pick up after our family dog, but a minority of owners are spoiling Tavistock for the rest of us.

I know am not alone in thinking it is particularly bad in this area and it must be a real turn-off for tourists. I would be very interested to know if there is anything the town and borough councillors plan to do to encourage people to keep our lovely town's streets clean.
