AN appeal has been made to Times readers to keep an eye out for a large Eagle Owl that has disappeared from the Mary Tavy area.

The 15-year-old European Eagle Owl named Beau went missing from West Country Falconry while exercising in free flight. He was spooked by a herd of cows on Sunday, and has not been seen since.

David Buncle from West Country Falconry said: 'He is a very big owl with a wingspan of about 5ft. He has tufts on his head that look like ears and bright orange eyes.'
