ON Sunday June 13 the Spooners and West Dartmoor Pony Club annual show was held at Monkswell, Plaisterdown, on an exceptional summer day which lifted the spirits of parents and competitors, young and old.

This year?s event attracted more than 250 entrants from a radius of 50 miles, and in some classes the competition was very strong.

The show pony classes and gymkhana events pertaining to Pony Club members proved exciting for parents as well as competitors, and brought the day to a happy conclusion. Many visitors from other pony clubs expressed to the committee members that this was an excellent event.

In the show jumping and working hunter classes the competition was again strong, the results showing many surprises. Dressage and handling classes were well attended, again the subject of discussion among many junior participants on different aspects of equestrian sport.
