Torridgeside . . . . . . . . 3

Tavistock Ladies . . . . 7

POOR weather and a poor pitch to play on did not make the match easy for Tavistock.

Torridgeside opened the scoresheet. Tavistock ladies were just as willing and brought the score even with a super attacking run by Kate Atkinson.

Torridgeside kept up the fight and after many attempts at getting past the Tavistock defence of Louise Galway and Nikki Burns, with Candy Capeling working alongside Steph Morgan, Torridgeside finally broke through to score their second goal.

Laura Corrales battled in midfield to send a long ball through to Rhianne Parsons, who netted Tavistock?s second. Tavistock kept on the attack until the half time whistle.

Second half saw both teams cold and wet, but still full of fight. After a poor clearance from Tavistock, Torridgeside netted their third goal.

Becca Allen and Laura Corrales, battling midfield, strengthened the Tavistock attack, sending the ball to Jones, who promptly scored Tavistock?s third.

Heavy wind and rain started to take their toll and with a midfield substitute on the fresh legs of Sam Payne promptly got down to attacking Torridgeside and netting Tavistock?s fourth goal.

With great ball work, Donna Hone finally put her name to the fifth goal. Tavistock, now playing with outstanding footwork and passing, put Torridgeside under more pressure resulting in Parsons scoring her second.

Tavistock kept up the good work and Kate Atkinson, who opened the scoresheet, closed it, scoring her second and Tavistock?s seventh five minutes before the final whistle.

Player of the match: Donna Hone.
