l The club's participation in the LTA Nationwide Play Tennis event was a great success last Sunday when 27 children turned up who were well supported by parents. The object is to promote the game and attract new players.
Club coach, John Reeder, admirably assisted by junior member Josh Sutton, had a busy afternoon with instruction sessions, play practice and demonstrations on how to play the basics of the game of tennis.
There were various target competitions for which prizes (supplied by the LTA) were awarded.
All participants went home with at least one prize.
A good omen for the club was that many parents showed an interest in their children joining.
On Wednesday and Fridays throughout August coaching courses are to be run for juniors (8-15 years). Anyone interested please contact John Reeder on Tel: 01752 252989.
