A DOZEN teenagers have become Dartmoor National Park Authority's first ever Junior Rangers.
Working with the education team and the ranger service they are set to enjoy a year of conservation activities.
Youngsters from 13 to 15 years of age will be offered farm visits, the chance to try stone walling and hedge laying, building bird boxes, archeological work and much more.
There will also be orienteering, hill walking, cycling and more. The aim is that they become the moor's best friends, promoting its care and helping people to enjoy it wisely.
The 2015 programme is now full but if it's a success Dartmoor National Park Authority could run others in future.
