YELVERTON U13s Typhoons' took on Plymouth Mount Wise in a Palladium League fixture at Langton Park last week.

Yelverton U13s scored 82 – 4 off their 20 overs built around an unbeaten 27 not out from Matthew Smith and 14 from Ben Pearson.

This total looked 20-30 runs too few on what was a good batting track, and so it proved as Plymouth knocked off the runs with some ease, with L Edmonds (21) and D Goodey (38) being the main run getters as they reached the Yelverton score for the loss of only 2 wickets off 18.1 overs.

Yelverton bowled and fielded well to take the game into the last few overs, with Will Johnson being the most successful Yelverton bowler with 1-5 off his 3 overs.

Palladium U13s League

Whitchurch U13s v Yelverton U13s

THE teams fought each other to a standstill with the game being tied with scores level off the final delivery of the game.

Whitchurch batted first and Yelverton's opening attack of Johnson and Dunlop kept it tight early on and Dunlop was rewarded with the wicket of Poole (2), caught by Adams with the score on 14.

The pick of the Yelverton bowlers was Johnson with 0-12 off his 4 overs.

Yelverton's reply stuttered early on when opener Pearson was bowled by Barriball with the score on 3.  Lopes joined Dunlop in the middle and the pair put on 28 before Dunlop was caught for 11 by Northey of the bowling of Poole.

Adams (10 no) hit the last two deliveries for boundaries to tie the scores on 146, while.  Douie remained unbeaten on 23.

A great game to start the league season and played in a good spirit by both sides.
