Morley Rangers 1

Horrabridge Rangers 2

HORRABRIDGE finally won their first three points of the season against a physical Morley side. Rangers started the brighter of the two sides and took the lead after 15 minutes when great link up play between Birch, Eaton and Kingham resulted in Max Burgess racing clear of the home defence and drilling the past the keeper from 15 yards.

Rangers continued to play good football with Eaton and Kingham in pulling the strings in midfield. Morley however equalised when South scored from close range.

The second half totally belonged to the visitors who dominated play with some class football and if it wasn't for the brilliance of home keeper Luke Readon then Morley could have conceded double figures in the half as he denied Birch, Burgess, Wright, Fry and Harry Eaton time after time.

The only goal in the half came after 70 minutes when Birch and Burgess combined well for latter to run clear in beat the keeper with a clinical finish.

Plymstock Utd 3

Horrabridge Rangers 2

THIS proved to be a classic semi-final between unbeaten league leaders Plymstock and Horrabridge.

The home side started the brighter playing some good football but Horrabridge defence of Northam, Glanville, Johnson and Ryder dealt well with any threat. Plymstock opened the scoring after 20 minutes when Treeby scored from 20 yards and five minutes later they doubled their lead when Robertson scored with a lucky strike from a corner.

Horrabridge started the second half well and within five minutes reduced Plymstocks lead when Jack Northams long through-ball caught the home defence sleeping and Max Burgess raced clear to lob the advancing keeper. The visitors equalised five minutes later when Tom Wright produced a fine piece of skill to beat three defenders and drill the ball into the top corner of the goal from 10 yards. The rest of the half was end to end with both teams playing some good football and both teams were indebted to their goalkeepers who made some smart saves.

In extra time it was Horrabridge however who looked livelier with Kingham and Eaton dominating the oppositions midfield and creating the better chances. The home side however took the lead with their only shot in the half when Gorniak headed home from close range.

Railway Beacon U11s 2

Tavistock Thistles U11s 10

THISTLES came back from their winter break with a resounding victory over Railway Beacon.

The score could have been a lot more, as Tavistock led 7-0 at half-time, with Railway Beacon not having had a shot and Thistles having missed a fair number of chances despite netting seven times.

Alistair Spicer and Ben Roberts partnering each other up front for Thistles plundered their way to a hat-trick each, running the Beacon defence ragged.

The midfield of Rory Metcalfe, Jack Easton, Charlie Phipps and Nathan Ord worked hard on the heavy pitch, keeping their shape well and passing the ball with aplomb.

The defence of Morgan Scott, Harry Cole, Rhys John and James Bartlett were rarely troubled but snuffed out any chances the Railway Beacon strikers tried to create.

In the second half Tavistock experimented a little with goalkeeper, Edward Nettleship playing central defence and proved what an asset he is with some intelligent passes. James Bartlett and Rhys John both tried their hands in goal while Thistles brought on Kyle Newman Marks who played well down the left. Owen Jones again proved versatile in a number of positions. Despite the changes Thistles ran out comfortable winners.
