TAVISTOCK Athletic Club were out in force on Sunday, February 20 in Dawlish and Plymouth. The juniors were competing in the fourth meeting of the Sportshall series whilst 26 seniors took part in the ever-popular Plymouth Hoe 10. The juniors increased their lead at the top of the Sportshall League and, with just one meeting left this Sunday, look set to retain the trophy which they clinched last year. The squad was slightly depleted but some good performances meant that Tavistock now have a 123 point cushion to take into the finale. The individual results are now available on the clubs website at http://www.tavistockathletics.com">www.tavistockathletics.com. Meanwhile, nearer to home, the seniors enjoyed a magnificent day out in the Plymouth Hoe 10. Many personal bests were attained and several club records broken. The race included a Devon versus Cornwall competition with the best 10 men and women competing for the 10 mile crown. James Cole was in the Devon mens? team which narrowly missed out to the Cornwall contingent. Fortunes were reversed in the ladies? race which featured Fiona Dunn helping her Devon team-mates to victory. Best of all was the placing of the Tavistock ladies as the first ladies team, the three counters being Fiona Dunn, Rachel Short and Nicole Heryet.
