JUNE 2011 celebrates an interesting anniversary for the town of Tavistock.
From the earliest days, folk were under the auspices of the Abbot and the Monastery.
At the Reformation in 1539 power was transferred to the Russells and Dukes of Bedford.
In 1911 a third phase of the town's long history commenced with the sale of the Bedford estates and freedom of tenure and land purchase became available to the people of the town.
Are we going to acknowledge this in any way?
Has the Times any newspapers or articles relating to this event that can once more be made public?
