PUPILS at Milton Abbot Primary School were jumping for joy after completing 45-minutes of sponsored skipping for the British Heart Foundation recently.
The children took part in the BHF's 'Jump Rope for Heart' event which aims to raise money and awareness of heart conditions and diseases.
School administrator Maria Jones said: 'The children had to get sponsored for skipping for 45-minutes.
'As well as raising money for BHF, it allows the children to recognise the importance of physical activity and aims to help the pupils improve their skipping.
'We haven't collected all the money in yet, so we don't know how much we have raised, but any amount really helps.
'The sponsorship was superb — some children had £80 to £100 of sponsorship just on one form, so hopefully we should have raised several hundred pounds.'
Some of the money raised will go towards school funds for future resources, but the majority will go to the BHF to fund research, treatment of heart diseases, equipment, nurses and education programmes for schools.
