OKEHAMPTON Town Council has given a grant of £500 towards the Queen's Golden Jubilee celebrations in the town.
The request came from Cllr Perry Vallance, who is organising the celebrations in Simmons Park on June 2 with Cllr Pat Snell.
Although plans are not yet set, a children's picnic and sports competition with entertainment are expected to be included in the day's events.
