Carlsberg South Western League Tavistock 4 Torpoint 0 THE Lambs moved up to third in the table with this comprehensive victory over the Tamarside club. It was a good start for them as Mike Arscott tried a speculative shot from inside his own half as the visitors made a mess of a defensive clearance that left keeper Sam Wakeham way out of position but the ball flew wide of its target. Another defensive mistake allowed Ryan Honey in on goal but he steered his shot pass Wakeham but again wide. Then Lee Coxon got to the by-line to cut back for Glynn Hobbs to sky one over the bar. Hobbs went close again with a great run across the area before they deservedly went ahead on 15 minutes. Lee Ireland and Steve Daly combined on the half way line to put Kevin Parker down the wing to cut back for Honey to control inside the area and coolly finish. Ten minutes later the Lambs increased their lead. Parker?s cut back saw John Morris?s fierce drive deflect for a corner. Coxon?s low cross saw Will Stringer step over the ball and there was Morris to stab home from close range. On the half hour the Lambs went further ahead with a well worked goal. The combination of Parker, Ireland and Daly on the half way line allowed Parker to put the ball into Honey whose flick over the defence allowed Coxon to clip the ball over Wakeham. Daly flashed one over the bar to end a great display of football by the Lambs in the first half that had completely overwhelmed the visitors. The second half was a totally different affair with the Lambs unable to continue where they left off in the first. It allowed Torpoint to come more into the game but despite having more of the play they could not capitalise and open their account. Honey shot wide after Ireland had put him through. Coxon put over after a quick break out of defence. Substitute Marc Conday was put through by James Steer on 84 minutes who went around the keeper but saw his effort cleared off the line and it was not until the 87th minute that the Lambs got their fourth. Wakeham?s foul on Steer saw him get a straight red card for Jamie Gill to don the keeper?s jersey and his first job was to pick the ball out of the net from Conday?s spot kick.
