TAVISTOCK travelled to North Devon to play Bideford Colts under floodlights with a strong line up but did not get the journey out of their legs until half time.
Prop Andy Dicks scrummaged well and enjoyed many bullocking runs throughout the game, deservedly winning the man of the match award.
Prop Will Whitehead looked to get more involved in open play as his fitness improved while pack leader Dan Hayward enjoyed his best game of the season tackling and rucking well.
He deserved his try after driving hard into the defence from a penalty move to touch down inches from the touchline.
The backs had plenty of possession but struggled against a well organised defence.
Full back James McKinnel pulled off three try-saving tackles when he brought down Bideford?s quickest centre in one on one situations.
Tavistock?s other try went to James Kaminski who again showed his determination close to the try line, despite the close attention of several defenders.
New face Nick Wadland looks a good prospect and showed good tackling technique in the back row.
