IN ROUND two of the Playstation Junior Ginetta GT Championships, a Tavistock youth fought his way to the top. Jordan Williams had to fiercely hold on to the lead in the second round as he was followed closely by rivals Henry Surtees and James Harrison. Surtees was determined to win the race but made a mistake when the drivers entered Tower and he dropped down into fifth. Meanwhile Jordan continued to fire in fastest laps of the race as he led. It was a mammoth tussle to the finishing line but it was Jordan who went some way and took the chequered flag. The pain of race one started when Jordan and rival Surtees crossed the line for the final lap of the race. As they entered the final turn on the track, Surtees tried to make his move for first place and in doing so the pair touched ? resulting in Surtees losing ground and Jordan, to his horror, spinning off the track. This left the way open for Harrison to power past and take the chequered flag for the fourth time this season. Jordan said: ?In terms of the championship what happened in race one where I failed to finish, means my challenge is pretty much over. Nothing?s impossible of course but it?s going to be hard to overtake James at the top of the standings.? In the provisional Playstation Ginetta Junior Championship Table James Harrison is first with 268 points, Jordan is second with 230, and Henry Surtees is third with 213.
