TAVISTOCK-born Jordan Williams raced his way to a superb second place overall following the final round of the 2006 PlayStation® 2 Ginetta GT Junior Championship, which was held recently at the famous Thruxton circuit in Hampshire. The final round was one of the most challenging of the season as the drivers battled it out at one of the UK?s most difficult and fastest tracks. The results of this final round crowned James Harrison as winner of the 2006 Championship with 304 points. West Devon?s Jordan Williams was second on 294 points and Henry Surtees in third on 236pts. Championship winner James Harrison, who had been favourite, came second in Saturday?s race, behind Jordan Williams, and 10th in Sunday?s race. One of the stars of the weekend was Jordan Williams as he won both Saturday?s and Sunday?s races before stepping onto the podium once more to take second place in this year?s championship. Jordan, aged 15, who won both races at Thruxton, said: ?I didn?t get off the starting line as well as I?d have liked to today, but it worked out well in the end and the other drivers didn?t manage to catch me. ?This is a perfect weekend ? winning the races and then coming second in the Championship; considering this is my first year in Ginetta GT, I?ve done really well. ?I am very happy as I dominated well in the second part of the season.'
