KELLY College pupil Jordan Channon, aged 12 has been selected by England Athletics to represent the South West in the Virgin London Mini Marathon on April 17.
He has been competing for both Kelly College and Tavistock Athletics Club and has had an excellent cross country season. He will make up a team of six under 13 boys and will stay at the Royal Holloway College in Surrey with the South West team and teams from the other nine regions in England plus teams from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Jordan's race will start with 270 boys and they will run the course which is the last 3 miles of the main marathon distance, which means that they will pass all the major attractions, such as The Embankment, Westminster Bridge Street with Big Ben and Buckingham Palace.
