TWO community groups set on keeping Tavistock a clean place to live in and visit, have joined forces to tackle the ongoing dog fouling issues in the town.
Members of the DP Squad and Tidy Tavi met up to discuss how to overcome the problems of irresponsible dog owners who leave their pet's mess in the streets of Tavistock.
Tidy Tavi reported the bad areas around the town and the problem of people picking up dog mess in plastic bags then throwing the bag into a hedge or hanging it on a bush or fence.
The two groups have agreed to meet up one a month to catch up on where the worst areas are around the town.
Although based in Parkwood Road, the DP Squad has now extended its patrol to the parish church where dog mess is left regularly.
The group caught two dog owners red-handed recently, who were politely asked to pick up their dog's mess.
The groups have decided to ensure culprits are reported to West Devon Borough Council.
