TAVISTOCK College Surf Academy is opening its doors to the town's young people for a series of summer sessions.

Fully qualified British Surfing Association coaches Dan Kinsman and Pete Keegan will take groups of 11 to 18-year-olds to Polzeath to introduce them to the sport during the summer holidays.

Mr Kinsman, who works as a learning mentor at Tavistock College, said: 'The surf lessons will give young people the chance to experience the fun, fit and healthy programme our surf academy members enjoy throughout the year.

'The full day training sessions are aimed at beginners and improvers and we will use them to scout for new recruits to join our team of competitive surfers.'
