South Molton U15s 0 North Okes U15s 17 From the kick off North Okes took the game to their opponents and moved the ball around well. With Harvey Ratcliffe, Ollie Scantlebury and Chris Knott driving forward several opportunities went begging in the first half for North Okes. In the final seconds of the half Gary Down for North Okes went over but was unable to touch down. In the second half the visitors stepped up a gear and with half backs Dan Curtis and Eric Bright combining superbly it was only a matter of time. Chris Humphries stole the opponents' ball on the half way and superb handling from Wil Lethbridge and full back Si Fellows prominent took play deep into their opponents 22. A further series of drives saw Chris Knott drive over for a well deserved try. From the restart North Okes made ground to half way and the ball was worked to Eric Bright who made a lovely pass to Joe Taylor to score under the posts. North Okes were now in complete control and excellent handling by the backs saw Wil Lethbridge make ground on the left, supported by Chris Pyle, Harvey Ratcliffe and Ollie Scantlebury took the ball on the line. Recycled ball saw Chris Knott go through a number of tackles on the blind side to score wide out. To their credit South Molton never gave up. For North Okes Joe Taylor was the player of the match. North Okes U11s 42 Crediton U11s 5 DESPITE atrocious weather conditions North Okes came out and played as a well drilled and disciplined team, lead by captain for the day Luke S. North Okes' scrummage was outstanding especially as they were a considerably lighter pack. Charlie W was quick to rip the ball out of the opposition's hands. George C lead the forwards well and kicked a conversion. Charlie O competed well in the line outs stealing ball. Daniel S put in some crunching tackles and kicked a conversion. Ollie F added tries and kicked one conversion while Marcus H also scored twice and was outstanding organising the backs and keeping the game flowing. Ben Sharpe was in the heart of the action and kicked one conversion. Rhys P continued to develop his game, being a relative newcomer and converted his own try. Daniel F at scrum half had a number of runs which culminated in a try scored. Jack D was again solid in the role of full back in the first half. Jake S and Tom P were strong out on the wing and put in a number of try saving tackles. Jack W came on in the second half at full back. Connor had strong runs down the wing but was unlucky not to score as was Robbie. Teignmouth U9s 50 Okehampton U9s 35 THE home side dominated the early game with their tackling and rucking skills and Okehampton were six tries to nil down at half time. Okehampton then took hold and fought back with seven tries in the second half to three tries to Teignmouth. It was a closely fought game with Okehampton showing their superior fitness and fantastic gamesmanship. There were some really hard tackles and the Okehampton boys showed they were not going to be pushed around. James Cox put in a try saving tackle in the third quarter of the match. Exceptional play was seen from Okehampton's Patrick Beacom, Ross Davidson and Matthew Stoner. Liam Pyle and Joe Mawle were the try scorers with Liam scoring four tries and Joe three. Launceston U8s Okehampton U8s THE teams played two matches and the visitors faced a team who were tight and initially well organised. After a strong start from Launceston, Okehampton clawed back the first game to draw 3- 3, with Okehampton scorers Leon Horn, Oliver Arden and Edward McCarthy. In the second game Okehampton recovered to win 4-2, with three tries from Leon Horn and one from Matthew Haygarth. Okehampton U7s 7 Teignmouth U7s 1 OKEHAMPTON played two games against Teignmouth. In the first Okehampton's fighting attack combined with flawless defence resulted in this win. The seven tries were all of similar origin. Each individual demonstrated speed, agility and quick thinking to pass the Teignmouth defence. Try scorers were Maddie (2), Daniel Turney (2), Kai Middleton, Cole Pengelly and Joshua Burgoyne. It was Okehampton's flawless defence play that won them the game. Okehampton U7s 3 Teignmouth U7s 4 BRILLIANT team work and passing by Okehampton resulted in tries scored by Imogen Ogbourn and Joshua Burgoyne. Newcomer Nathan scored his first try on his debut. Teignmouth clinched the lead in the final play of the match.
