AN EAST Cornwall mother and entrepreneur has won Product of the Year at the Mumpreneur Awards, an annual ceremony aimed at celebrating parents throughout the UK who manage the difficult task of juggling business with family life.

Jodine Boothby, already a mother of one and seven months pregnant, from Calstock, runs Gummee Glove, a website retailing her own invention — a teething mitten for babies.

The win is all the more remarkable as Jodine launched Gummee Glove just five months ago. To walk away with the prize, including a six-month exclusive contract with Ocado, has delighted her.

She said: 'I am still in shock, to receive such a prestigious business award so early on after my product launch is just amazing. I was so excited when it was announced I was a finalist, but to actually win is the icing on the cake after all the hard work I have put in over the last year.'

Judging Jodine's entry was a panel of top entrepreneurs, including Glamour Magazine editor in chief, Jo Elvin.

Jodine's Gummee Glove will also feature in the Christmas edition of Vogue, on shelves November 5.
