SETTLING into her post at the Okehampton Times offices in East Street is new reporter Joanne Parker. Joanne, 33, brings with her more than five years' experience in a variety of publications and media, including a post on a local radio station in Ottowa, Canada, where she presented a breakfast show, and three years with a national walking magazine. She is familiar with the Okehampton area and its issues, having lived in South Zeal for almost two years. She is a member of the South Zeal Brawlers medieval dancing group and has been involved as a volunteer in the organisation of various local events. Joanne succeeds reporter Richard Wevill, who left the Times after four years to take up a new job with a weekly paper in Tiverton.
