POLICE are appealing for information following the theft of a large amount of jewellery valued at £4,600 from a house in Harrowbarrow.
Offenders broke into the property through a conservatory door sometime between 3.30pm and 5.30pm on Tuesday, June 4.
Once inside they made a search of the property and escaped with more than 20 items of jewellery, including some antique pieces.
Among the stolen items was a triple-stringed set of pearls which is more than 80 years old, two cameo brooches, a 1930s opal necklace containing a Hong Kong mark and a silver locket carrying a fleur de lys pattern.
Also taken were a set of Ciro pearls and a Ciro pearl choker, a man's gold pocket watch, a gold wedding band and a diamond engagement ring.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area at the time of the burglary to contact them.
They would also like to hear from anyone who may have been trying to sell the items to individuals or businesses including second hand shops and auction rooms.
