Ashmoor 2 Okehampton Seconds 8 AFTER pushing Truro hard last week, Okehampton were confident they could get their first win of the season. The game couldn't have started better for the visitors, when a defender's loose pass was picked up and slotted past the keeper by Stuart Jarvis. Ashmoor fought back well and equalised before Mark Parsons restored Okehampton's lead. Jarvis then got his second for Okehampton when Nick Luxton's shot was parried right to him. Okehampton continued to press and won a short corner which resulted in Nick Luxton's fierce drive, making it 4-1 at half-time. The second half started well for Ashmoor as they won a penalty flick. Unfortunately keeper Andy Harvey was able to save for Okehampton and Ashmoor's hopes were fading. As Okehampton started to dominate, Luke Miller got the fifth and Jacob Lloyd the sixth. Ashmoor did create a few opportunities but Okehampton's defence and goalkeeper were in excellent form. The seventh goal saw Rob Hall, James Rogers and Parsons combine to set up Toby Lloyd, who calmly rounded the keeper. Ashmoor did grab a consolation goal to make it 7- 2, but Miller then got the eighth for Okehampton with a great finish into the top corner. Oke fully deserved their win, but credit must go to Ashmoor who were very gracious in defeat, in a game which was played in a friendly spirit. Man of the match: Luke Miller. l Next week Okehampton are at home to Plymouth University.
