JANE Jones from Okeford Veterinary Centre, Okehampton has received the veterinary nurse student of the year award after completing her first year of her studies at Bicton College of Agriculture. Jane has two teenage children, Sarah and Martin, as well as a horse, a dog, rabbits, a sheep and a cat ? who is recovering after major surgery. Jane enjoys playing for Okehampton ladies? hockey team and has completed the Ruby Run from Holsworthy to Hatherleigh on two occasions. Veterinary surgeon Philip Davies said: ?This is a fantastic achievement for somebody who has returned to studying after a long break. Well done, Jane!?
