WHO needs X-Factor, Britain's Got Talent or Andrew Lloyd Webber's latest when Okehampton can vote for it's very own prince and princess in time for this year's carnival! The Okehampton Carnival committee is delighted to report there are two couples who have put their names forward to be prince and princess at this year's event. It is now down to the public to choose who they would like and vote for one couple. The first couple are Robert Ridges, aged 10, and Bethany Lawrence, aged 6, while the second couple are Deanna Gillings, aged 8, and Cody Friend, aged 6. Simply put a cross in the appropriate box below and cut the slip out. Voting slips should be completed and handed into the Times office no later than Friday, June 20. The committee are still desperately seeking a carnival queen as no one has come forward so far. Anyone who is interested should contact the committee's chair, Elaine Cole at Krafty Cards, on 01837 659649. There is a float in waiting for the queen and advice will be given, if required, on decorating it. Last entry for the queen is Friday, June 20.
