CALLING all former pupils of Okehampton Secondary Modern and Okehampton Grammar School between the years of 1955 and 1959 ? a big reunion is coming soon.
The reunion is being organised for all those from that era, many of whom have recently, or are about to, turn sixty.
Organisers have already contacted around 70 former pupils, including one now living in Canada who has expressed an interest in attending, but they are keen to hear from any more people who may have lost touch with their schoolfriends over the years. Some members of staff who were at the school as student teachers at the time have also been approached.
Organiser Tom Soby said there will be a bar, buffet and nostalgic music on the night for anyone who wants to show they have retained their jiving skills.
