CHILDREN can visit the National Trust's houses and gardens in Devon for free this month.
Up to three children aged under 17, accompanied by one paying adult, will be admitted for nothing during the whole of August.
As well as Lydford Gorge, near Tavistock, with its spectacular waterfall and 'Devil's Cauldron'; Finch Foundry at Okehampton and Buckland Abbey at Yelverton, there are other attractions further afield.
Overbecks at Salcombe has a secret room for children and the Georgian mansion of Saltram near Plymouth has three new rooms for children, with Dolls' Houses and 'hands-on' activities.
For the adults, there's a chance to learn to Charleston at Castle Drogo during a 1920s house party and the 'Garden of Earthly Delights' — a show featuring fantastical mediæval characters and masked dancing at Killerton.
